Don't forget that IVF kids have a much higher rate of life-long problems.
Personally, in the story above, I'd be more hurt by having to give away the child I gave birth to than not killing said kid....
Not sure if you read Jimmy Akin's blog, but he's got a cloning post I think you'll enjoy.
So disappointing to see how many people like to look at this as a black and white issue. Not to mention the idea that IVF is "creating children". I think your idea of "creating" is incredibly broad. They are one woman's eggs and one man's sperm - they simply provide an enviroment where the 2 can meet and be more likely to be successful. And bringing God into it? How do you know that God didn't give us the intellect and ability to do this - and that it is a source of joy to God? We are all Gods children...or do you believe that some of us are better than others?
I would never say that God does not love the children produced by IVF. Of course he does. He loves the ones that are placed in the deep freeze too. You know those embryos that everyone forgets about and abandons and treats like commodities. The ones that are legally the PROPERTY of their parents to dispose of as they wish. He loves those ones, and the ones that get implanted in the wrong uterus, and the ones that have genetic defects because they were conceived in a dish, and the ones that get shipped to India to be implanted in a stranger's uterus, and the ones that get a single cell plucked out and then are thrown in the trash because they are genetically defective. God loves all of them and THAT is why IVF is immoral.
